Cut the damaged pipe end with a pipe slice. |
With the damaged end removed the pipe is ready for fitting. |
The tap connector parts. Anti-colckwise from top left: The nut, the olive, the fibre tap washer, the connector body. |
Use a quality jointing compound, for use with potable water. |
Now tighten the nut to the connector body using two adjustable spanners. |
There is no need to use PTFE tape with a compression fitting. |
Finally before tightening the connector to the tap, place the tap washer on the end of the tap connector body. |
Place the nut and olive on the pipe, and smear the jointing compound around the pipe end. |
